Leeds tour

Join Leeds Modernists for a walk around University of Leeds impressive Modernist Campus designed by Barbican Architect's Chamberlin, Powell and Bon. The campus is emblematic of the Modernist spirit, exploring new approaches to urban design, community and environment, and representing a new approach to university campus design. A city within a city (*). 

Lead by Steve Hodgson, @brutal_architecture (Instagram), we'll kick off at the University Parkinson Building Steps on Woodhouse Lane at 4pm at take a tour of the exterior of 8 impressive modernist buildings across the central campus, terminating at the centrepiece of the complex, the impressive, Grade II* Listed, Roger Stevens Lecture Theatre.

Join us afterward for a pint in nearby Nation of Shopkeepers (pending covid rule change), or continue into the city centre to explore further Modernist sights.

The Modernist Society are pleased to offer a new series of socially distanced tours. For the safety of attendees, and in-line with current advice, these mooches are limited to six attendees. We would ask you to wear a face covering, and please keep your distance from others). The tour leader will clarify and offer further advice on the day.
